Agency Description:
The Illinois Department of Public Health saves the state’s records on births, deaths, marriages and divorces. More than 400,000 records are added annually. Since birth and death records first began to be compiled by the department back in 1916, 27 million files have been placed, including some older records dating back to the mid 1800s.
