It is quite an easy process to obtain a divorce court public record. It is important that you must have required relevant information to search those records. The Department of Health and Social Services of Alabama is accountable for all Divorce records. The state of Alabama has records from 1950 on.

As a general rule, without a court order, all marriage records are sealed for 50 years in the state of Alabama. Hence, if you require these marriage public records before that time frame, you have to give sufficient reasons before the judge and you are required to verify them before him. For this, filling of a suitable application form is necessary and it should b forwarded along with the request fee of $20. You can collect the records from the Clerk of Superior Court of the specific district where the divorce was awarded in case the records are not available with state office.

Extra charges will be applied to find the records from another country and you should provide the name of that country to get the information. Your application form must be accompanied with your photo ID carrying your signature on it.
